My heart overflows with thankfulness for God’s unfailing
love, tangible presence, and tender mercies. That He
would see fit to will and work in me for His good pleasure is surely a matter
of grace…amazing grace.
It is my prayer to honor Him in all I do and be a bearer of
His great Name wherever I go.
I am married to the most darlin’ man in the world! He loves
Jesus and his family. He is a dear sweet husband, loving, supporting, guiding,
and encouraging me to be all that I am called to be in Christ…even if that call
involves being subject to crazy groundhog adventures!
We are proud parents to four beautiful daughters that bring
us great joy and delight! Three have “built their own burrows” (Sorry I can’t
help myself!)…marrying outstanding young men and giving us the thrill of
becoming grandparents to the cutest, smartest, groundhog lovin’ grandbabies you’ve
ever seen! Our youngest daughter is totally rocking the college experience, and for the majority of the year has turned us into empty-nesters! We're excited to see God's plans for her life unfold!
Teaching is at the essence of my being. With over 20 years
in the classroom, I still love being surrounded by students eager to learn! Now
that I am “retired” as a teacher and promoted to full time Grandmommy, the
privilege of author visits with my Amazing Grace Acres series of books provides
the opportunity to get back into the schoolhouse!
Years ago, the Lord birthed in my heart a desire to write.
In the early days, I thought God’s plan for me was to write inspirational books
for women…but then two little groundhogs crossed my path while in the NC Mountains,
unearthing this fun-filled groundhoggy journey! I never dreamed I’d come face
to face with Punxsutawney Phil at Gobbler’s Knob or cheek to cheek with Sir
Walter Wally at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, yet that happened! As
groundhogs continue to play hide and seek in my brain, I can’t wait to see what
else God has in store!
I am honored to partner with Samantha Bell, illustrator, to produce the Amazing Grace Acres series of books for children. Groundhog Day in Amazing Grace Acres and Christmas in Amazing Grace Acres are the first two books in the series. G is for Groundhog ventures into the nonfiction world with cool groundhog facts in a fun, rhyming alphabet book! Gracie and Grover go to the Beach is the most recent release!!
